A Step Away offers these services to assist in developing self-reliance and independence for our clients. To assist individuals, remain comfortable in a home setting.
A Step Away provides In Home & Community Services and Respite Care to individuals with Intellectual Disabilities and Autism. Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) in Pennsylvania offers several waivers intended to support individuals with Intellectual Disabilities, Autism and Developmental Disabilities.
Waivers accepted are as follows:
1. Person/Family Directed Support (P/FDS)
2. Community Living
3. Consolidated
These programs offer a range of services to assist individuals live more independently in their home and communities. For more information on ODP waiver programs, including criteria for eligibility, services provided and how to apply. Individuals can visit the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services website or contact the Office of Developmental Programs.
Do you know about PA waiver programs? Pennsylvania offers several Medicaid waiver programs through Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) for individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism. All waivers are designed to offer services for independent living and respite care with starting applications at the local County MH/ID offices.
To Get Started on How to Apply:
1. Contact Your Local County Office: Apply for the P/FDS waiver and for all others contact the local County Mental Health/Intellectual Disabilities (MH/ID) Office.
2. Check Eligibility: You'll need to meet financial (income/resource limits) and functional criteria (requiring an intermediate level of care).
3. Contact PA IEB (if you have Medical Assistance): If you have Medical Assistance, contact PA IEB to start the process, or apply online via PA Compass.
The main waiver programs are as follows:
• Person/Family Directed Support (PFDS) Waiver: All ages for individuals with ID/Autism, granting greater family/individual control over services.
• Community Living Waiver: Comparable to the Consolidated Waiver, it provides people of all age with ID/Autism, including children with likely future diagnoses.
• Consolidated Waiver: Supports individuals of all ages with ID/Autism, with focus on community integration and independent living.
